Our well-being policy: a cooperation between persons and services
Three well-being working groups
We have 3 working groups on well-being, each focusing on a different target group: students, staff, and researchers. The Academic Advisor Well-being is a member of the 3 working groups and ensures a streamlined approach.
- Working group students: an action plan has been developed and launched (led by Sofie De Smet and Rebecca Leonard)
- Staff working group: reports to the CPBW (led by Elly Audenaert and Noémi Verreyen)
- Researchers' network: led by Valery-Ann Jacobs
Prevention Service & Environment
The staff members of the Prevention cell within the Department of Prevention and the Environment (PRMI) support and advise VUB in safeguarding the well-being of its staff in the performance of their work. They translate the Well-being Act of 4 August 1996 into policy and give practical expression to the key themes below. Our internal reporting point for transgressive behaviour also falls under this cell.
- Mental health
- Physical health
- Safety
- Ergonomics
- Environment
- Emergency
Academic Advisor Well-being
Anyone with questions or suggestions about our well-being policy can contact Valery Ann Jacobs, our Academic Advisor for Well-being. She is the liaison between all services involved and the first point of contact for policy questions.
Our Department of Education and Student Affairs, headed by the Vice-Rector, our Department of Human Resources & Organisation, headed by the Personnel Director, and the Committee for Prevention and Protection at Work (CPBW) are also actively involved in the design and/or implementation of our well-being policy.
