Daily management is in the hands of:
General Manager
Nic Van Craen is the general manager of VUB. He is responsible for the overall administrative, logistical, and financial management of the University in support of teaching, research, and service. He also closely follows political, social, and moral developments in society to ensure that the university can respond to these evolutions at the right time. In serious emergency and crisis situations, the General Manager assumes the role of chairman of the Crisis Management Team (CMT).
Portfolio holders
- Prof Vincent Ginis is portfolio holder Artificial Intelligence and data-driven strategic policy preparation for a period of two years from April 2023.
- Prof Wim Vandenbussche is portfolio holder partnerships and multilingualism for a period of two years from April 2023.
- Prof Caroline Buts is portfolio holder for student affairs for a period of two years from April 2023.
- Prof Hans De Wolf is academic coordinator Cultural Diplomacy for the period from 1 October 2023 till 30 September 2024.
