Food and drink
Feeling a bit hungry? Or is your stomach growling? On our Health Campus, you can combat both conditions in a budget-friendly way. In the Agora (R) building, you will find the restaurant and student pub "Tempus”. Hot meals, cold dishes, snacks, sandwiches, and beverages are available at student-friendly prices.
Sports and relaxation
Sports on the VUB Health Campus? Just choose your discipline: badminton, basketball, fitness gym, volleyball, yoga, relaxation, indoor football, tennis... Plenty of choice! Not to mention the HealthCity sports complex, which is practically on the campus.
And if you prefer the big screen, you will soon find your way to Kinepolis in Heysel park. And, of course, there is also a lively cultural and recreational life for students on campus.
Study Guidance Centre
The VUB Study Guidance Centre (SBC) helps you enhance your study success. You can go there with questions that are important to the progress of your studies at every stage of your educational career. A motivated and experienced team will provide you with custom-made guidance. This can be done individually or in groups. On the VUB Health Campus, you can find the SBC in the Integrated Guidance Landscape ('Medical Library').
Medical Library
The Medical Library, part of the University Library, is located in Building A. It boasts an extensive collection of (bio)medical and pharmaceutical reference books, a collection of educational training material and a reading room with study and group work areas.
Social Services
Studying is fun, but it has to be affordable. At Student Social Services, you can obtain all the information you need to keep it that way. So be sure to make an appointment if you see your study costs go beyond your means and are wondering what financial allowances you may be entitled to. You are also welcome if you run into unexpected, practical, and administrative problems. Place of appointment: room A.114 .
Childcare
Looking for childcare? If you work or study at VUB, at Erasmus college or our university hospital UZ Brussels, you will enjoy priority in the VUB nurseries over other parents. There are VUB daycare centres in Etterbeek and Jette, and together they welcome 180 children between the ages of 0 and 3 with open arms every day. Be sure to register in time!
Multimedia
Internet access is vital. This is why, as a student at our VUB Health Campus, you can count on internet access in the student homes. You can connect to wireless internet in the library and the Centre for Study and Counselling, and you can surf wherever you are with a virtual desktop. You are also assigned an e-mail address, and you can work with modern multimedia tools in clinical education.
Medical specialists
The VUB university hospital is one of the largest medical institutions in Brussels. Located in Jette, it has no fewer than 3,000 employees. 18% are highly qualified medical personnel, i.e. specialists. In other words, you are in good hands if you need medical assistance.
Psychological care
Stressed out? Or under a dark cloud? Feeling as though you’re about to snap? As a VUB student or employee you can attend BRUCC, where a specialist team of psychologists will work with you to reestablish your mental wellbeing. The consultation centre, in building C, offers psychological consultations as well as workshops and lectures, such as ‘worry management’ and ‘how to deal with stress at work’.
Housing
Our VUB Health Campus has 208 rooms and 20 double flats, and acts as an agent for another 300 rooms off-campus (within cycling distance). The Housing service offers rooms for rent under very favourable conditions.
Standaard Student Shop
The VUBtiek now goes through life as the Standaard Student Shop. You can collect Webshop orders from the reception desk at the medical library (building A) on the Health Campus.
Job service
Need more money in your pocket? At the Health Campus you can obtain information about a job from the Faculty Secretariat (Building A). You can also consult our job database directly.
Help with unwanted pregnancy
You are pregnant, but unsure whether you’re ready for a child? The VUB Dilemma team helps you clarify your situation through information, discussions, medical consultation or targeted referral to services that can help you further.
Security service
Have you been confronted with, or do you know of an incident on campus? Are you or someone else in an emergency, or do you need medical assistance? Security service, which is available 24/7, is only a phone call away. Our security staff are trained to administer medical care, and they have access to defibrillators.
Reporting centre for transgressive behaviour
Are you a victim of verbal or physical violence, bullying, sexual harassment, intimidation, racism, or discrimination? Or are you a witness? Then, contact the VUB reporting centre. We’ll handle your report quickly and discretely: a confidential advisor will contact you within 3 working days.
