Need a laptop?
A computer is an indispensible accessory for your studies, but buying one isn't cheap. Or maybe your laptop breaks and you aren't able to replace it rightaway?
Buy a laptop
As a student, you can buy a computer at a discount. Through Campus Shop, you can purchase new or refurbished devices. As a student, you are automatically entitled to the free 'fast student service' for a period of two years. If something is wrong with your laptop, it will be picked up the next working day and repaired within 5 working days. If it can't be fixed in 5 days, you'll get a loan laptop for free.
Campus shop
Through Academic Shop, you can purchase a new laptop or rent one. In case of problems with your laptop, students are helped quickly and can get a replacement device. If needed, a technician can come on site to repair your laptop.
Academic shop
If you meet certain conditions, you can apply for an interest-free student loan for the purchase of a laptop.
For students who receive a scholarship from the Flemish government, an advance on this scholarship may also be used for the purchase of a computer.
Medicine and Pharmacy students
Medicine and Pharmacy students are able to borrow a laptop through a different procedure. They can borrow one for 1 month and pick it up on VUB Health Campus in Jette.

Internet subscription
Telenet offers a low-cost Internet subscription for students with limited financial resources. The Vrije Universiteit Brussel helps to identify students who are part of this group and are interested to use this option at home or in their dorm.
