However, during the past legislative term, several measures have been taken to fight discrimination: positive action by organisations was made legal, correspondence testing was deployed on the Flemish labor market and on the rental market in several Flemish cities, and experiments were conducted using anonymous CVs. What did they bring us in the fight against discrimination? During this panel discussion, researchers reflect on which policies and measures we need to combat ethnic discrimination and why. They will discuss with policymakers and civil society to look forward after the elections: where is the fight against discrimination going to? What can we learn from anti-discrimination measures at national, regional and local level? What measures do we need in the fight against ethnic discrimination and why? And what can we expect from the fight against discrimination  after the elections?

Billie Martiniello is a PhD researcher at VUB, where she developed expertise in measuring discrimination in the housing market and on local anti-discrimination policies. Dr. Abel Ghekiere is a postdoctoral researcher at VUB, where he has also developed expertise on discrimination in the housing market and on interventions to combat and prevent discrimination. Dr. Laura Westerveen is a postdoctoral researcher at Erasmus University Rotterdam. She is an expert in anti-discrimination policies and integration policies and the political discourse on the policies.

With this panel discussion on anti-discrimination policies and measures, we address policymakers, civil society organizations, and all professionals who combat discrimination in the labor market, in education, housing, health care and other sectors.
