What is Start To Talk?
Start to talk is a warm project that focuses on mental well-being in students. It is a project by students for students. Through a talk group, issues that people are struggling with are discussed. These topics are often not discussed in everyday life. People feel embarrassed or weak because they are struggling. The social media where everyone seems to have the perfect life does not make it any easier. We find that during the discussion group people can open up and talk about their feelings. Despite the fact that most people do not know each other, we notice a mutual respect and trust towards each other. During a session it is often realized that we are not alone and this creates a deep sense of belonging. Talking helps, don't stay with your problem and feel free to come along to one of our monthly sessions.
Become a moderator?
Start To Talk is an organization for, as well as by, students. This means that most members stop once they say goodbye to their student days. As a result, there are regular vacancies for new enthusiasts. Currently we are looking for moderators.

*As an Urban Engaged University, we call upon our VUB community to help build a better world through social engagement. On the "The World Needs You" platform, the VUB collects socially meaningful projects on which students, staff, alumni and sympathisers can collaborate. These projects do not represent the university. The initiatives and communication are the responsibility of the project organisers and do not represent the university's position.
