International Student Platform

VUB is a melting pot of cultures, colours, languages and styles. This diversity characterises the university and provides students and staff with a broader and richer world view. Because of the strong presence of international students, the VUB International Relations Office created the International Student Platform that gives everyone the opportunity to have a voice in VUB policy.

The name speaks for itself: the International Student Platform offers internationals a platform to have a greater say. It is not about legal power, but an advisory role like that of the student council. Its board discusses themes relevant to international students such as housing, healthcare and mobility, but it also organises events such as job fairs for internationals or cross-cultural communication events. The platform also offers moments to get to know each other and make friends. After all, it is important that everyone finds their place at the VUB. The board consists of twelve members, including a president and a vice-president, who are elected annually. They do their utmost to give the student council a more international character and to make VUB an even more inclusive university.
