Become a volunteer at Fietsbieb and give all children in Brussles the chance to cycle!
Are you a VUB member who likes to turn social commitment into action? Do you want to offer more opportunities to families with children who are financially less fortunate? Is sustainability important to you? Then volunteering at Fietsbieb is something for you!
Fietsbieb is a place where second-hand children's bicycles are being repaired and then rented out at a very low price. Therefore, the project has a dual focus. On the one hand, through its social character, the Fietsbieb offers every child their own bicycle, thereby increasing their inclusion. On the other hand, the project contributes to a sustainable world because it gives used bicycles a second life. As a volunteer, you thus contribute twice as much to a better world! One of the Fietsbieb shops is located in Ixelles, very close to the VUB campus, at Usquare. For that reason, it is not difficult for you as a committed VUB member to reach the Fietsbieb. As a volunteer, you help out once a month in the Fietsbieb. You can fill in three profiles, based on your own skills. Firstly, the Fietsbieb is looking for a handy person who can repair the bicycles if necessary. Secondly, they are looking for someone who enjoys helping with the administrative side, such as renewing subscriptions, registrations, and updating the waiting list. Finally, the Fietsbieb is looking for people who like social contact and who therefore enjoy working at the reception desk. Do you think you fit one of these profiles? Then don't hesitate and register as a volunteer. In this way, you can make a much-needed difference for the children and their families!
