Are you curious, critical and constantly looking for answers to questions that occupy you? Then don't just sit around with your undoubtedly super interesting brains, but share them with the members of the study circle Vrij Onderzoek!
This circle is not your typical circle. There is no student baptism, everyone is welcome, and membership recruitment is cross-faculty. In this circle you debate and discuss with the other members and find out what's going on in the corridors of the VUB campus. The topics that are discussed are modernly relevant to your own generation. Issues such as male-female relationships, sex, technology and poverty are at the top of the agenda.
The free inquiry study group encourages you to think critically about every moral proposition because there are always better and new arguments to be found. This critical and free spirit is the basic principle of our university. Whoever says VUB, says free research and vice versa.
Of course, the bow cannot always be bent. Besides debates and discussions we also organize pleasant member weekends, excursions and film evenings. For good mind-blowing, philosophical conversations you have to be present at the campfires or the cheese & beer evenings that the Circle organizes.
Since 1949 the Circle has been fighting for a free campus where dogma has no place. As a member, your input is central and you get the chance to help shape the agenda with issues that interest you. Curious? Feel free to join a meeting every Monday at 8 pm!
